Adobe Configurator 1.0: Ultimate customizing Photoshop CS4

Adobe Configurator 1.0: Photoshop CS4 customize

Adobe configurator logo

Since the arrival of Photoshop CS4 and its version extended the creative possibilities have multiplied. Now, with the new transform tool in Photoshop CS4 "Scale-based content," we can turn a square image panoramic image without distortion outrageous. We now have the possibility create new 3D objects and act on their properties, paint, etc. ... In short, these new versions CS4 and CS4 Extended-open the door to new creative possibilities are very promising.

As if this were not enough, Adobe now offers us the possibility to customize the interface of Photoshop with a powerful tool Adobe Labs: Adobe Configurator 1.0

.

Adobe configurator-screenshot

With this new plugin you will be able to create fully customized tool palettes. The interface is very intuitive thanks to technology provided by Adobe Air. A drag and drop allows you to ask your future toolbox with everything you need.

For example, you made the web design, you often need to: create new documents to web format. You will then drag a button "action" in your window that you assigned the action "create a new document 800x600, 72dpi, transparent background." And voila! Of course, you must first create your scripts in Photoshop and many to name them so that they can use in Adobe Configurator.

At first glance, there is no difference with scripting Photoshop except that there, everything will be available in one and same palette, you name as you like and which you can access very easily in Photoshop.

Adobe configurator-tools

Adobe Configurator allows you to drag your new palette that offers everything Photoshop. Everything is divided into 4 tabs on the left: "Tools" for tools, "Commands" for functions like "open a document, load shapes, histogram display, view open documents in cascade etc. etc.. The third tab lists all actions. It is through this tool you can add action buttons in your palette.

Finally, the tab widget allows you to add images (locoal or web), a player for loading Flash videos, and finally, text (useful for text lorem ipsum that is now accessible directly in Photoshop !...)

Widget With this feature, you understand that Adobe Configurator opens up a whole new type of interactive tutorials .... Now you can follow step by step the steps of your tutorial and click on different buttons to execute the actions palette. If this is not enough, you watch the video to see how the author made a particular stage tutorial. In short, a revolution! I'm sure we will see shortly a plethora of new tutorials for this new genre.

It seems that Adobe Configurator is a tool that will revolutionize the way we use Photoshop and opens a new path in the realization of interactive tutorials. The path to personalized and interactive interfaces are mapped out. Finally, if you want to use Adobe Configurator, you will need Photoshop CS4 or CS4-Extended. The software works with Adobe Air you will need to install if you have not already done so. Finally, Adobe Configurator 1.0 is completely free and available on Adobe Labs. Have fun ... Some links

PS: I can share the panel "Web Design" created for this presentation and visible in screenshot. If you are interested ask me and I'll send ...

Aviary: Tools for creating online completely free

Aviary: Creation Tools completely free online

aviary

If Aviary's mission is to "make creating accessible to all," we can consider that it is partly done with the following aviary tools.Cet software package available online for free at the moment consists of 3 tools in beta:

aviary

- Phoenix for the creation and image editing. This tool is a bit like Photoshop. You can find the system of layers, filters, blending options. You create your image from scratch or importing it from your pc or from the net. A toolbox provides forms of selection, wand, brushes, shapes, etc ... In short, if you use Photoshop, you will not really lost.

Peacock logo

With Peacock, Aviary offers a new way to create images. At first sight it is rather disturbing, but after a few minutes away you understand the logic. In this interface, the tools are presented in the form of windows that can connect them to add effects.

Ex: To apply a histogram adjustment to your image, you simply connect the module "layer" (which is the foundation of your image) to the module histogram. By double clicking on each module, you access their settings. This is a very effective and incredibly rich in effects and filters of all kinds. The interface Peacock is a really creative solution that opens new paths, very interesting from an ergonomic standpoint.
